Edwin Gay, O.D.
Dr. Gay is a graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry.
Dr. Gay started as an optometrist and owner with one private practice location, our Commerce Township location, in 2017. Since 2017, Dr. Gay has added the best ocular health examination equipment available, which has helped diagnose and treat many eye diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, eye irritations, and many more. A thorough eye exam that addresses all issues with the eye, then leads to patient specific recommendations for products, is the best way to get every patient seeing the best they possibly can. This approach has lead to a near perfect rating on Google reviews, and Dr. Gay is excited to bring top quality eye care to the Fortney locations as the new owner. Dr. Gay also uses his experience from a prior position at a large corporation where he improved the care provided by over 100 optometrists, as the medical director. Dr. Gay sees patients primarily at the Commerce and Livonia locations, and occasionally Dearborn and Warren.
Dr. Gay is married to his wife, Olivia, who he met while they were both on the track and field team at University of Detroit Mercy. They have three children, and an english setter dog. Dr. Gay enjoys family trips to national parks, riding around on a pontoon boat, and training for and running ultra marathons.

Dr. Laila has been with Fortney Eyecare for several years and has always been a patient favorite, compiling many favorable reviews. She always provides a non-rushed, comprehensive eye examination. Dr. Laila primarily sees patients at the Warren and Dearborn locations.
